Let’s go a little deeper than the fun facts.
Hi there! I’m Rich and I’m excited that you’ve stopped by. In a nutshell, I’m a husband, father, Louisiana native, LSU graduate, Certified UX Designer, and IMAGE MAKER.
I started shooting in the 90’s when disposable cameras were “the thing”. Those cameras and their 36 exposures where my playground. I remember dropping them off at the photo lab with my parents and waiting the hour it took to process the film. I couldn’t wait to see what I’d created! The end results didn’t wow anyone, but it did open the door to photography for me.
In college, I got a film SLR and learned how to extract and develop my own film in a dark room. This was a great experience because it allowed me to learn the traditional ways of photo processing allowing me to appreciate and apply these concepts to digital post-processing today. Some time passed. I finally got my first DSLR – and I haven’t looked back since. Now, I’m a digital shooter who still has lots of love for film.
Creating is my passion. I’ve won awards in photography, art, and design, and ’m grateful for the exposure I’ve gained and what I’ve learned from these honors. But here’s the thing, I want and need to continue to create – not just because it is my passion, but also because it helps keep my mind young, and keeps me learning, sharing, inspiring, teaching, and meeting all types of interesting new folks. I adore what I do and what I’ve done; Where I’ve been and where I’m going – and I never want to stop!

I take pride in being able to document and deliver moments in your history. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2006 and have ‘camera in hand’ well before that. I understand light, both natural and artificial, and am not limited by a time of day.
I don’t just give you what you expect. I take chances to make completely unique images that document you and your important moments. I understand the responsibility and trust placed on me during this process. Don’t worry if you aren’t that comfortable in front of a camera. I will direct you from start to finish. I believe in quality and customer service; and that with both, you get what you pay for.
Why do I take & make pictures?
Photography is my passion. It’s not only a way for me to express myself in creative and unexpected ways, but also to express the soul of the subject(s) I’m photographing. I’m happiest when I’m behind a viewfinder and I want to share my visions with you.
I believe anyone can take a picture, but not everyone can “make a picture”. My skills at making pictures are what set me apart from other photographers.
Insight into my process:
Learn what goes through my mind when I’m making the shot.
Subject: Who or what is my subject? What am I wanting to capture?
Location: Where are we? What’s unique here? What will help me get the “WOW!” shot I need?
Light: Find the light – Where’s the natural light? Am I adding artificial light? Do I need to light elements other than the main subject(s)?
Composition: What is my focus? Do I want variety in the frame or a single point of focus?
